Every bag is hand cut, hand punched, and saddle stitched using a two-needle technique. Allow 2–4 weeks to ship.

Items with zippers and long shoulder straps are the only exception where machine stitching is used.

Autonomous Artistry leather goods are made from some of the finest leathers sourced from historic tanneries in Italy and the United States. Each piece is natural and entirely its own — variations in tone, texture, marks, or veining are not flaws. They are the story of the animal and the land it came from. With proper attention, your piece will only get better with time.

Keep it dry. Avoid contact with water, hand cream, hand sanitizer, makeup, and perfume. If the bag gets wet or comes into contact with any of these, blot gently with a soft, dry, light-colored cloth — never rub.

Each Marilyn is made from a different leather, chosen for how it carries the color and ages over time.
The black is cut from La Bretagna Cowboy — a firm, matte vegetable-tanned leather from a family tannery in Tuscany that has been slow-tanning hides since 1961. The red and dark brown from Gaucho Oil — a richer, pull-up leather that deepens with use. The yellow and pink from the Pecos line — a lighter, more supple veg tan with a natural, open grain.
The white is Buttero from Conceria Walpier — one of Italy's most celebrated tanneries. Buttero is known for its waxy, burnished surface that polishes to a near-gloss finish and develops a stunning patina over time. The tan accents pair it with La Bretagna Cowboy.
All leathers are full-grain and vegetable-tanned. No corrections, no coatings. What you see is the hide exactly as nature made it — scars, grain variations, and all.
